The PRO-BOOM and PRO-BOOM JR. utilize a fiberglass boom for better sensitivity in "feeling" fish as they strike. The PRO-BOOM comes with a heavy-action fiberglass boom while the PRO-BOOM JR. comes with a medium-action boom. A "New" design feature allows the boom to be detached with a quick release pin for ease in storing equipment between fishing trips. Both booms will accommodate Penn Reel sizes 6/0 through 130ST International and come standard with your choice of either a Deck Plate or "New" Redi-Mount. The polished Stainless Steel Deck Plate flush mounts in the gunwale and is recommended for commercial applications where maximum strength is needed. The polished Stainless Steel Redi-Mount allows the PRO-BOOM and PRO-BOOM JR. to be used in a standard flush mount rod holder. Since the strength of the Redi-Mount is directly dependent upon the quality and strength of the flush mount rod holder, it is recommended that this combination not be used in commercial applications where great loads could be exerted on the rod holder. Both Booms lock in the Deck Plate and Redi-Mount to prevent swinging from side to side and may be lifted slightly to move and change positions every 90 degrees. When not in use, the Booms lift out for storage. Pro-Boom is recommended for Penn 10/0, 16/0, 80TW and 130ST reels. Pro-Boom Jr. is recommended for Penn 6/0 and 9/0 reels. |
